Firefighting & Fire Control

Aero Tech, which pioneered the use of smaller aircraft for fire suppression, specializes in air tanker fire support. We became actively involved in aerial firefighting about 20 years ago, and since then have logged thousands of hours providing defense against wildfires throughout the U.S.  We routinely deliver air tanker fire support to the Department of the Interior Office of Aircraft Services (OAS) and have helped battle devastating fires in difficult terrain.

Our fleet of AT-802 single engine air tankers is ideal for rapid response to wildfires.  The aircraft are tireless workhorses and can be loaded and up in the air in less than five minutes.  They carry hefty payloads of water or retardant and can maneuver into tighter areas and make quicker turns in a shorter radius than most other aircraft.  The AT-802s can fly at high altitudes and cover areas of rugged terrain, making precise drops in almost any conditions.

For firefighting projects, we offer additional services to help firefighting officials monitor operations and mark progress.  The service of our MD520N helicopter is available for air reconnaissance, which can assist in directing ground-based fire crews for enhanced safety and performance.  Customers often use the service for direct monitoring and photo documentation of fire sites and aerial operations.
